i dont care that people know i watch anime cause if they sayt its for kids im like yes taking a sword and ripping some things head off is really wat parnets put on for their kids like viloence not kids violence teens

Translation: I really don't care that people know that I watch Anime. If somebody tells me, "It's for kids." I'll say back, "Yeah right, because you know taking a sword and ripping people's heads off is really what parents want to see their kids watching." Violence is for teens, not kids.

You've really got a point there. Anime isn't for kids (with the exception of a few) and should be treated with respect. Unforuntately we stupid Americans have accociated all cartoons with kids.

I mean if you've seen The Animatrix then you would agree that yeah, some cartoons aren't meant for kids.

Toxic Hobo- 11-22-2005
No way,i think Americans have gone way over there head!!
I think thats probably just stereotype.I one time let that intimidate me-kinda.
I rented this anime movie from the library and thought it was for kids-cause it was cartoon.I came home put it in the VCR and we all gathered around to watch it.
LMAO
The movie was full of violence!
My mom got mad and we returned it and complained why there wasnt any warning.
Turns out someone took off the sticker that said "warning-adults only"!
So the guys apoligized,and..yeah.

I learned a valuble lesson!
Dont take features,as stereotype!!

Old Skewl CJ- 11-22-2005
I totally agree with you Cripty.

If my mom saw one episode of FMA her head would probably explode. My dad would think that it was awesome and St. Bob's Academy would probably be talking about it for a week.

Americans also can't except it because it's foreign. Yeah? Well so is your BMW sitting in your garage.

Knowing other cultures isn't such a bad thing! Besides not all Anime take place in Japan (Ex: FMA)

...
.....
I don't hide it..
At all.
I have a shirt that says " Will work for anime."
And I have millions of anime shirts in general, I take manga to school, I wear wristbands that say I love anime in japanese lettering... I draw manga...
People come up to me and are like, "WTF. WHY DO YOU LIKE THIS BLAM!"
But I don't really care...
......
I just say something like, "What animes do you know of? <<"
And they say," DBZ, POKEMON, YOU GAY HO, AND THOSE!"
And I just laugh...

People here in Dallas dont know what they are talking about, I just choose to ignore them.
My friends and I hang out in the manga store. XD And people passing by sometimes walk in if they know us, and they realize that it isnt all just pokemon, and yugioh. <<
Gawd.

Koga- 11-29-2005
I only watch a few anime's...I watch Fooley Cooley, Paranioa Agent, and Trigun.
So I don't really have to hide the fact that I watch it. My friend just got me really annoyed with it.

Kamikaze Ponytail- 11-29-2005
I talk openly about anime with my friends even though they hate it. XD They really don't care, but then neither do I. I don't care what people think of me, because I am me and that's that. If someone laughs at me I laugh right back. If they have a problem with me watching anime, they can grow up. They're the ones missing out. *shrugs* Anyway, no I don't hide it. I like to talk about it in front of all of my friends. (btw I only have 2 that I can go see) XD

michigangirl- 12-01-2005
You're right Sylvaron, about how if we care what ppl think about us, life will suck for us. But it's not easy for ppl to have others laughing at them or making fun of them. Trust me, I speak from personal experience. inupalace/46.gif

Kamikaze Ponytail- 12-01-2005
Yeah, I've sort of been laughed at my whole life so don't start. I've learned to deal with it, and believe me, if you ignore it, everyone will quit. I didn't pay attention to the people who laughed at me, and guess what! I'm absolutely fine, and yes they did quit. If you can't learn to ignore it then well, I feel bad for you. Life must suck when you're trying to keep a stupid reputation. inupalace/9.gif

Old Skewl CJ- 12-02-2005
Well it's not so much the reputation for me but my mom and my grandma's reputation. See my grandma is the founder of a bunch of preschools and two schools across the USA and my mom is just... well... if my reputation gets ruined let's just say that she'll kill me.

"Stop watching cartoons and playing 'Nintendo' and grow up!"

My mom screams this in my face a lot. I can't do anything that has any resemblance to fun! I must be a perfect little blonde dumb@$$ (excuse my language and BTW I'm not makin' fun of Blondes cause' I am one) and not care about anything besides what this girl is doing and how hot this boy is. I want to be me and talk about what I want to and be who I want to be but St. Bob's and my mom aren't letting me.

AnimeGrL- 12-03-2005
